Originally I figured it would make sense to have seperate folders for Godlike and Planetouched, but there are so many overlaps that I decided to lump them together. This one can go from either simply humans with glowing eyes or unnatural colouring to any humanoid with extravagant unnatural features, such as horns, tails, wings, etc. Godlike and Planetouched is a bit more wishy-washy. Orcs and Half-Orcs should be obvious, too. Since many renditions of dwarves, gnomes and halflings tend to be interchangable depending on the art style, the artist's definition and the viewers definition (also very much the setting), I decided to lump all of these together for now. Humans should be clear, Elf/Half-Elf is most everything with pointy ears or other features that can pass as elven. Here I may assign multiple categories per image. full plate), for characters that have an androgenous look to them (aka can pass as pretty much any gender) or non-humanoid characters which don't necessarily have any humanoid sexual attributes (like constructs or most anthros). Ambiguous and Other is for either characters where you can't tell the sex because they are covered in unisex clothing/armor from head to toe (i.e. Think: "Would it be appropriate to show this much skin/this part of the body exposed in the office?" To make it easier to browse for people who specifically want female fanservice and for people who specifically don't want it. Skimpy is for women who imo show off more skin than would be apropriate in most real life work places. Two for female, since there are disproportionally more portraits of female characters than of male ones. Three categories: Mug shot (everything that's cut off below the shoulders), Hips upwards (everything that's cut off between hips and knees) and Full Body (everything that is cut off below the knee or shows the character in full). The images here won't go in any other folder. Here go all portraits that depict NPC companions from the games, for people who enjoy to mod their games to have custom portraits (that includes mod NPCs, as far as I recognise them). When I sit down to actually sort these images, I always start from the back of the folder, to make sure that newer submissions can stay here longer. So if for example an image discription clearly states that a character is meant to be a regular human but they have pink hair, then they will go to the Planetouched folder. I figured it might be helpful if I'd break down just how exactly I sort images in this group.įirst of all, I'd like to make abundandly clear that all of this is highly subjective and that I am decidedly going by "death of the author", which means that these are my interpretations of the images that get submitted. PPS: Added some guidelines regarding Commission Infos. PS: Updated the list since people keep submitting stuff that does not fit the group. This list may be expanded in the future, so please keep a look out If you are unsure, just look at what's already in the gallery and honestly ask yourself: "Does my art fit in here?" The idea is to create a pool of commission offers for people who want custom portraits made but don't know where to look. We however only accept Commission Infos that are for/include offers for artwork that would be presentable in the group aka would fit the above stated submission guidelines. Would work neatly in either Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, Pillars of Eternity, Shadowrun Returns, Neverwinter Nights, Tyranny and/or the likes.Īnything that isn't a character portrait or can be cropped to function as suchĬommission Infos always go into the "Commission Infos" folder (duh). Here's a handy list of guidelines for submissions:
